
Leah Hawker is a Cape Town based photographer with a passion for creativity
and conceptual imagery. Her work includes commercial assignments and private commissions as well as the production of her own art based projects. Leah’s portfolio incorporates fashion, décor, stills, food, botanical and fine art. Her
work shows a devotion to detail and beauty and encompasses a strong creative vision with confident technical skill in digital imaging and postproduction.
With a 3 year full time diploma in photography from the Ruth Prowse School
of Art, Leah went on to work as a freelance photographer as well as lecturing
part time in traditional darkroom practice, digital imaging, and visual communication in photography for two years. She is now a full time professional photographer. Her own and commissioned work has been featured in One Small Seed, Design Indaba, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, The Sunday Times, and on 567 Cape Talk and Talk Radio 702. Leah has been involved in numerous exhibitions and group shows including, among others, the Cape Town Month of Photography, the Sanlam Vuleka Awards, Sasol New Signatures, Cultivaria
with Erdmann Contemporary and at the Association for Visual Arts.
